Lesson 5
Desired Results Questions
5 MinutesBuyers buy for their own reasons not for ours. Decisions are usually made on a Return on Investment (ROI) performance. The easiest part to grasp is the “I,” or the investment: that’s how much it costs. The harder part of the ROI equation is the return. The return answers the question, “What do I get for the investment?” Rather than the seller guessing at what the buyer wants, the seller asks Desired Results Questions to uncover how the buyer wants to benefit. Not only will buyers tell us, but these questions build on the pleasure principle. Buyers like to talk about their desired results. It makes them feel as if they have already obtain it and they feel like you understand them.
