Lesson 2
The Challenge of Implementing
2 MinutesMost people that set off to achieve something they have never achieved before fail. The reason for failure lies in their thoughts. Our thoughts create our attitude (optimistic or pessimistic). When someone chooses a new journey their thoughts are usually the most positive. We call this uninformed optimism. As they move further from their comfort zone they begin to see the challenges that they will face. This moves most people into a stage called informed pessimism. It is human nature to move towards safety. Rather than pushing through most people return to the status quo . . . the comfort zone. However, our attitude—optimism or pessimism—is a function of the expectations available.

In order to achieve something you have never done before, you have to do things you have never done before. The further from your comfort zone you are pushed, the more pessimistic you become about your ability or willingness to complete the project. Your attitude, either optimistic or pessimistic, is a strong indicator of the probability of achievement. The secret to sustaining a positive, optimistic, attitude is the strength of your VISION. You created your vision in the last lesson. What is your level of desire to achieve your vision?
